Karlsson loudly chews apple in reporters’ ears after rebuffing question

San Jose Sharks defenseman Erik Karlsson was full of confidence after his team’s 4-3 shootout win over the Minnesota Wild. And he had reasons to : he scored two goals during regulation and ended up netting the shootout winner in the eighth round to give the Sharks the victory. 

In his postgame video conference, Karlsson was asked if this was his best offensive game and answered very bluntly : “Not even close” while loudly chewing a bite of his apple in reporters’ ears.

We bet the performance - in the game - felt good to Karlsson, who hasn’t had it easy in the past couple of years. Karlsson’s tenure in San Jose has turned slightly sour since signing an eight-year, $92-million extension in 2019.

He has now scored four goals and 13 points through 31 games this season and the Sharks are currently seventh in the West Division with a record of 14-16-4.

The (real) apple is another great point added to his two goals last night!
