Pierre-Luc Dubois might be out of Columbus and now a member of the Winnipeg Jets, the dust is just started to settle, but you knew head coach John Tortorella was going to keep it a little messy.

After the trigger was pulled and the Blue Jackets trade Dubois to Winnipeg in return for Patrik Laine and Jack Roslovic, Torts kept talking about his former player, who demanded a trade out of Columbus after signing a two-year extension with the team that drafted him third overall in 2016, and according to Dubois’ agent Pat Brisson is fed up with the bench boss’ comments.

“From Day 1 of camp, John Tortorella wanted to expose Pierre-Luc Dubois,” Brisson said, according to TSN’s Darren Dreger on Thursday’s edition of “Insider Trading.” “This included going on (the) radio the second week, which made it more difficult for (general manager Jarmo Kekalainen) to do his job. Now, he continues to use different media platforms trying to justify his position.”

Torts didn’t keep quiet about his player’s desire to leave Columbus, going on radio to discuss what was going on with the young forward, saying that Dubois “hasn’t given a reason why he wants to leave.” In an interview that aired Wednesday, Tortorella acknowledged that he and the 22-year-old had conflict while calling today’s athletes “softer.”

It’s been almost a week since trade took place between Winnipeg and Columbus and fair to say Brisson has heard enough. Dubois, on his end, has yet to play for the Jets as he needs to follow quarantine rules and maintains mum on what really pushed him to request a trade out of Columbus.
