John Tortorella is done with Max Domi

This is worst than benching… what’s next for the forward?

This has just been confirmed : Columbus Blue Jackets  forward Max Domi  is a healthy scratch for a second consecutive game Tuesday as his team takes on the Florida Panthers.

Head coach John Tortorella appears to be done hoping Domi will get better and ready to help the team. He previously sat out the Blue Jackets’ 4-2 loss to the Panthers on Monday and the defeat did not convince Torts to give Domi another shot.

We all know how Tortorella can be a resentful man and the head coach has been upset with Domi ever since his outburst against the Chicago Blackhawks three games ago when he rag-dolled Connor Murphy, attempting to force him into a fight. Torts was even more furious when Domi did the same with Dallas Stars’ Rhett Gardner on Saturday as the head coach benched him for losing his cool again.

It is an understatement to say that Domi has struggled in his first season as a member of the Blue Jackets : he is putting up a career-low 0.41 points per game (19 points in 46 games) in the fewest minutes of his time in the NHL (14:45). He was traded to Columbus from the Montreal Canadiens, who got Josh Anderson in return, and let’s just say it’s quite easy to say which team won that transaction!

The Blue Jackets are currently last in the Central Division with a 15-23-9 record and fans weren’t surprised when they shipped their captain Nick Foligno to the Toronto Maple Leafs at the trade deadline…
