Jack Eichel finally has something good to say about the Sabres!

That might put a lid on the Eichel-wanting-out-of-Buffalo rumours… for a bit.

For the past few seasons, Buffalo Sabres fans have been on edge wondering if captain Jack Eichel will bolt at the end of another disastrous season. The 23 year old forward is now five seasons into his NHL career and has been nowhere near the Stanley Cup Playoffs. This - along with the Pegula’s poor management skills and decision-making - has led to widespread rumour reports that Eichel is unhappy in Buffalo and some fear he could demand a trade.

Publicly, Eichel has never hinted anything about a trade, but it has been no secret he is frustrated with his team’s performances.

However on Tuesday night, Eichel finally had some great things to say about his team, most specially on what it has been able to do this offseason. The Sabres have been quite busy since the start of October and Eichel likes what he sees.

“We’re really excited,” Eichel said Tuesday, according to  NHL.com’s Mike Zeisberger . “They’re great moves from management in the offseason. Now, more than anything at this point, you want to get back to playing.
“I think it’s great. I think it definitely sparked some excitement in me and other guys in the room.”

The captain was more than please to see that despite his lack of experience as a general manager in the NHL, Kevyn Adams has managed to land  Taylor Hall  while also bringing in Eric Staal and Cody Eakin as added depth on the roster.

“Whenever you can add people like Taylor Hall and Eric Staal and Cody Eakin to your roster and the locker room, they not only bring talent to the ice but also (a) veteran presence,” Eichel said. “In a situation like ours where we’re trying to find a winning culture with a young group and trying to figure out the right way to do things at times, I think having older guys can help you out, especially during periods of adversity.”

Eichel still couldn’t resist taking a shot at the Sabres for what has happened in the past seasons, adding that the addition of Hall in the lineup will take “a bit of pressure off me.”

We bet management heard that loud and clear too!
