Ahead of Game 2 of the semi finals between the Vegas Golden Knights and the Montreal Canadiens, head coach Peter DeBoer was forced to juggle his lineup as forward Chandler Stephenson was unavailable for the game with an injury. In his stead, Nicolas Roy started on the top line, centering Max Pacioretty and Mark Stone.

The result was not as he had hope, losing Game 2 3-2 at the hands of the Habs, and now it Montreal, it sounds like Stephenson’s absence just became a bigger problem.

According to Sin Bin Las Vegas, Stephenson isn’t even in Montreal with his teammates : “multiple sources confirm Chandler Stephenson is NOT with the team in Montreal. He is suffering from concussion-related symptoms on a hit in the 2nd period from Ben Chiarot.”

Nothing has been confirmed by the team, we can understand how they want to keep this information quiet and hope he returns sooner than later.

In 14 games played during this year’s Playoffs, Stephenson has recorded six assists with a +9 rating.

DeBoer has made changes for Game 3, using Alex Tuch on the top line with Pacioretty and Stone.

Let’s see how big of a blow Stephenson’s absence will be for Vegas.
