Golden Knights confirm what has been suspected about Marc-Andre Fleury

This had to be out in the open!

Finally, the Vegas Golden Knights are coming out and saying it. There is no way there are trading goalie Marc-Andre Fleury.

Rival teams better stop calling. During the postseason, Flower’s name was mentioned more than once in trade chatter in order to get the Knights under the salary cap. Trade talks intensified when Vegas signed Robin Lehner to a five-year extension at $5 million AAV : no one could imagine the Knights committing $12 million combined for two goalies. But the team managed to do so, but that didn’t discouraged teams from asking about Fleury.

However, they might finally get the message as Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman pointed out:

“Really good interview on Andy Strickland and Cam Janssen’s podcast with Vegas owner Bill Foley, who revealed what had been suspected: He does not want Marc-Andre Fleury  traded.
“He never came close to being part of a deal,” Foley said. “I would’ve had a big problem with it if that had been presented to me.”
I do think Pittsburgh tried hard through another team and thought they were close, but if the owner says no — it’s not close.”

The goalie has been red hot and the Golden Knights would be fooling to let him go.

And now, they’ve informed everyone in the league : no deal has or will come close to prying Fleury out of Vegas.

The Penguins, and some believe the Chicago Blackhawks, Minnesota Wild and Edmonton Oilers also expressed interest, but... too late!
