Four more NHL teams announce plans to allow 10% capacity at home games

The NHL continues to “open up” despite entire teams being forced into quarantine.

Earlier today, New York governor Andrew Cuomo announced that the state will allow up to 10% capacity at sporting events starting February 23rd, 2021. As you might imagine, the state's three NHL teams subsequently released statements with details on their plans to get fans back in the building.

The Buffalo Sabres do not have plans in place just yet to bring back fans, but are asking fans to wait patiently while they make arrangement with local health authorities.

The New York Rangers have announced that they will be allowing 2,000 fans into the building starting February 26th, 2021.

The New York Islanders have not announced specific plans, but have said that season ticket holders will get priority for available seats.

Meanwhile in Michigan the Detroit Red Wings are expected to increase capacity for their games sometime soon. The team currently allows 500 fans for each home game.
