Safe to say that Claude won't be missed by everyone in Montreal.

In case you missed the news earlier today, the Montreal Canadiens fired head coach Claude Julien and assistant coach Kirk Muller replacing them with new interim head coach Dominique Ducharme and new assistant coach Alex Burrows.

While the Canadiens have struggled in the short-term here, this news came as a shock to most of the hockey world. Are the Habs the best a true Stanley Cup contender? Probably not... but they're in the mix, especially when you consider their competition in the Canadian Division. So, it's surprising to see the team make such a drastic move at this critical point of the season.

While most Habs fans seem to be pleased with today's announcement, there's a large portion of the team's fanbase who feel that Julien simply took the rap for Carey Price's inconsistent play. If the team had better goaltending then Julien's job would be safe is more or less how the theory goes. To that end, Canadiens insider John Marinaro absolutely RIPPED into Price on TSN 1200 today calling the Habs' franchise goaltender "the most inconsistent player with a star label I’ve ever seen.”

That's... that's a bit much. Tone it down, Tony...

To be fair though, Price has been mediocre this season but he can't solely be blamed for his team's lacklustre performance. If CP31 pitches a couple shutouts over the past two weeks though is Julien still employed?

Whatever the case, it's clear that at least one of Julien's former players isn't a fan of his work. Dale Weise, who played parts of two seasons for Julien with the Habs, voiced his opinion on Julien's firing and it's clear he's not a fan.

Ouch! Tell me how you really feel, Dale!
