Flyers confirm the worst for Carter Hart, shut him down for the season

The Philadelphia Flyers have announced that goaltender Carter Hart is out for the rest of the season due to a sprained MCL in his left knee.

Check it out:

The 22 year old goaltender has been out of the lineup with an unspecified lower body injury the past while, but today's news confirms that it is indeed a knee issue.

Any way you look at this season though, it's been an absolute disaster for Hart and the Flyers. Injury aside, the youngster looked absolutely shell shocked at points this season and his NHL worst 3.67 GAA and .877 save percentage bear that out. He's obviously still young and has a ton of potential, but this knee injury combined with essentially a wasted season at such a critical age has to give you cause for concern if you're a Flyers fan.

Here's hoping the kid can bounce back in 2021-22 because there's a LOT riding on this kid's future for the Flyers organization.
