Fans make brutal edit to Marc Andre Fleury's Wikipedia after Game 3 choke.

There are probably not many people who are waking up on Saturday morning feeling worse than Las Vegas Golden Knights goaltender Marc Andre Fleury, and unfortunately for Fleury one particularly ruthless fan has decided to twist the knife even harder.

Looking at Fleury's Wikipedia page this morning I noticed that a not so subtle edit had been made to his biography, one that pays homage to the catastrophic mistake that he made in Game 3 of the Stanley Cup Playoff semifinals against the Montreal Canadiens. Fleury, who had been outstanding throughout the game, effectively choked the game away when he gave Montreal Canadiens forward Josh Anderson the easiest goal of his career with under 2 minutes left in the game's third period.

It was a mistake that quite frankly you cannot make in this type of high pressure situation and angry fans in Vegas have been, rightfully, pointing the finger of blame squarely at Fleury for this loss as a result. I suspect that it is one of these angry fans, rather than a Montreal Canadiens supporter, who has made the cheeky edit to his Wikipedia page. At the time of this writing the edit is still visible on his page, although I suspect it will be taken down in short order, so in case it does get removed I've captured a quick little screen shot of it and highlighted the relevant section for you. The rather savage description in his biography reads simply "Most notably known for assisting Montreal Canadiens forward Josh Anderson in Game 3 of the 2021 Stanley Cup Playoffs."

Although the blunder did not technically end the game, it merely allowed the Canadiens to tie the score at 2 goals a piece with under 2 minutes remaining in the third period, the Canadiens would go on to capitalize on the mistake in overtime. And wouldn't you know it, it was once again Habs forward Josh Anderson who would play hero for the Canadiens for the second time in the contest. Anderson made a great play at the blue line to keep the puck onside and seconds later took an assist from teammate Paul Byron and buried it in the back of the net to give the Canadiens a 2 - 1 series lead.
