Fans attack Lehner’s mental health following Fleury trade

Alright, let’s calm down here, Lehner was a great teammate to Flower!

Marc-Andre Fleury was traded from Vegas to Chicago earlier today, which was quite a surprise for the NHL’s reigning Vezina Trophy-winning goaltender.

The Golden Knights traded Fleury to the Blackhawks for minor league forward Mikael Hakkarainen in a salary dump. Fleury is set to count $7 million against the cap next season, the final year of his contract. Flower was basically traded for nothing as Hakkarainen will continue to play for the Blackhawks (or within their organization) despite Vegas owning his contract.

To make things worse and unfortunately for Flower, he found out he was traded on social media. The shock was so important that his agent, Allan Walsh, revealed that his client is now contemplating his future.

In the meantime, fans are still trying to cope with the trade. However, some fans are getting out of hand and attacking the Golden Knights organization, including goalie Robin Lehner who remains with the club.

Lehner felt pressure to post on social to call out fans that are attacking his mental health following the Fleury trade. Even Walsh got into the mix to remind fans how great of a teammate Lehner has been to Fleury.

This is a decision by the Golden Knights’ management. Lehner couldn’t do anything about it.

He is not to be blamed for this Fleury trade that got a lot of people talking. While Fleury did not have Chicago on his 10-team no-trade list, he had made it clear he didn’t want to play for any team other than Vegas.

Fans were outraged when they heard that the Golden Knights had not gotten in touch with Flower ahead of the trade as he found out on Twitter.

But fans need to take it easy on Lehner. This is what he had to say after the tough day.
