Over the weekend, you got wind that San Jose Sharks forward Evander Kane called out YouTube star Jake Paul via Twitter on Sunday, challenging him to a boxing match on Aug. 31 in Las Vegas. It took place on Twitter where Kane said it’s “easy to beat up guys with no experience and much smaller.”

This happened on Saturday night, right after Paul went viral for knocking out ex-NBA player Nate Robinson in the second round of their bout. The fight was the undercard to the main event between Mike Tyson and Roy Jones Jr. that ended in a draw.

Paul, who is now undefeated in his two-bout career, called out former UFC featherweight and lightweight champion Conor McGregor post-game.

“I’m taking this seriously,” Paul said. “I have a long list of opponents I want to fight. Conor McGregor, Dillon Danis — I will knock both of them out.”

This prompted Kane, probably inspired by an athlete like Robinson to get in the ring, to challenge him to a fight. Paul has yet to answer which pushed Kane to insult him some more on Tuesday night on social media, tagging the Youtuber.

“Logan Paul, I’ll take the mope off your head and wipe the floor with you.”

Vegas Golden Knights goalie Robin Lehner also made it known that he’d like a crack at the YouTube star, but has not insult him some more like Kane has.

There is no doubt that Kane would put up a good show in the ring, as much as he usually does in the rink. We all know that Kane was named after famous boxer Evander Holyfield and is the son of former amateur boxer Perry Kane. Standing six-foot-two, 210 pounds, he is never afraid of a fight on the ice.

But anything can happen in a boxing match.

That’s probably why one of his fierce rivals, Golden Knights enforcer Ryan Reaves, got in the mix and joined in a playful thread between Kane and Lehner.

“@evanderkane_9 calling someone out to fight?” Reaves tweeted. “We might have to wait 9 years to see that. He might be a good prelim vs @KevinHart4real though.”

We bet Kane has challenged Paul with an insult on Tuesday night to get an answer from the YouTube star. However, as of now, nothing was said from Paul’s camp.

Maybe the NHL season needs to get underway… Kane appears to be quite bored.
