Detroit Red Wings announce series of additional roster moves

The 2021-22 NHL season is right around the corner, and GM Steve Yzerman and company continue to put the finishing touches on the roster that will hit the ice on October 14 for the home opener. 

Earlier today, the Red Wings announced that defensemen Brian Lashoff and Ryan Murphy were waived. And now, there are several new names that the team made the decision to re-assign and outright release. 

First, the team chose to assign Jared McIsaac, Wyatt Newpower and Donovan Sebrango and goaltender Victor Brattstrom to the AHL's Grand Rapids Griffins. Additionally, goaltender Kaden Fulcher was assigned to the ECHL affiliate Toledo Walleye. 

As far as the releases are concerned, Turner Elson, Jon Martin, Dominik Shine, Tyler Spezia, Kirill Tyutyayev, Hayden Verbeek and Dennis Yan have all been released from their professional tryouts.


The Red Wings begin the regular season on October 14 against the Tampa Bay Lightning.
