No, your eyes are not deceiving you.

We're midway through the 2nd period at Little Caesars Arena in what is a pivotal matchup for the Dallas Stars against the Detroit Red Wings. Dallas currently trails the Nashville Predators by four points for the final playoff spot, and they're doing everything possible to be able to have a chance to defend their Western Conference title from last season.

And yet, they've not been able to break through against Detroit Red Wings goaltender Jonathan Bernier. As of the 11:34 of the 2nd period, the Stars are outshooting Detroit 36-3. And yet, they trail where it counts - on the scoreboard.

That's not a typo. A 36-3 shot advantage.

And yet the only goal on the scoreboard is courtesy of Red Wings defenseman Dennis Cholowski, who sniped a shot past goaltender Anthon Khudobin back in the 1st period.

Can the Stars ultimately break through?
