Crosby and McDavid skated as linemates and ‘won every game’!

With the  NHL and NHLPA announcing an agreement to return to the Olympics in Beijing in February of 2022, insiders and fans were quick to put together a roster for Team Canada. And it’s hard to believe the Canadians cannot leave China with the gold medal with this much talent in the lineup.

On Wednesday, Elliotte Friedman came out with his 32 Thoughts column on Sportsnet and let fans in on an interesting fact. Some top Canadian players practice together in Montreal in some pre-Olympic practice, and Colorado Avalanche’s Nathan MacKinnon revealed how Sidney Crosby and Connor McDavid played as linemates and were better than everyone else.

“Nathan MacKinnon confirmed a good little rumour — that Sidney Crosby and Connor McDavid skated as linemates at a Montreal camp; some pre-Olympic practice. MacKinnon half-joked he didn’t like it, because they won every game. “Way to keep it fair,” he laughed. The Avalanche forward, by the way, spent a lot of time on a line with Mitch Marner.”

This is golden - like the medal they all seek to get their hands on in Beijing in February.
