Pittsburgh Penguins captain Sidney Crosby will forever be a legend in his native Canada, as he scored the "golden goal" that won his country the gold medal in the 2010 Vancouver Olympics. Of course, he would help Canada repeat as gold-medal winners in the 2014 Sochi games.

He'll be suiting up once again for Canada in the 2022 Beijing games, and he'll have a sidekick with him by the name of Connor McDavid, the reigning Hart Trophy winner.

And the latter is looking forward to playing with the former.

“Anytime you’re talking about a Canadian team, and you get to pick the best of the best, there’s always going to be debate and speculation. Why this guy, why that guy? Of course, as a player, you do think about it a bit," McDavid said. "Canada is very fortunate to have so many good players. Good problem to have.

“I’ve never played on a team with Sid before. Big thrill if I can do that, it will be a dream come true if I can wear the Canadian crest with Sid."

McDavid will be looking to add to his ever-growing personal hardware case, as he's already won gold with Canada at the World Juniors and IIHF World Hockey Championship. And while he's looking forward to playing with Crosby, he also hopes that a teammate of his on Edmonton in the form of Darnell Nurse.

“In my opinion, of course, he should be on the team," McDavid said of Nurse. "There’s so many good Canadian D-men and he’s one of them. He can do a lot of things … he skates so well; he works so hard. You know he’ll be one of the most fit guys in the tournament. He could be a horse.”

Team Canada, as with all teams, will skate 13 forwards, seven defencemen and two goalies, along with an extra player at each position.
