In case you missed it last night, Washington Capitals forward Tom Wilson created absolute mayhem at Madison Square Garden.

The Caps pugilist earned himself a 10 minute misconduct for essentially assaulting New York Rangers forwards Pavel Buchnevich and Artemi Panarin.

As you might imagine, the online reaction to Wilson's attack on Buchnevich and Panarin was not favorable. Hundreds of fans are calling for him to be suspended for the rest of the regular season and playoffs. Others are saying he should never play in the NHL again.

As for the Rangers themselves, well they didn't hold back either.

"I figure you should have more respect for the game and for the players," said Rangers center Mika Zibanejad on Wilson's antics. "It's just horrible. Zero respect. I don't know why I'm surprised. It's just horrible."

Rangers head coach David Quinn was "Okay" after the game, but NHL insider Elliotte Friedman reports that Panarin is now out for the rest of the season.

Quinn went on to say that Wilson displayed "zero respect" for the game given his actions.

"We all saw it," Quinn said. "There are lines that can't be crossed in this game. There's just zero respect for the game in general. You got one of the star players in this league now that could have gotten seriously, seriously hurt in that incident," said Quinn following the Rangers' 6-3 loss to the Capitals. "You all saw what happened, and it happens time and time again with him. Totally unnecessary."

Suffice it to say that Wilson is likely looking at a long suspension for his actions. Stay tuned.
