Carolina Hurricanes tender offer sheet to Jesperi Kotkaniemi

We've officially got an offer sheet alert! 

The Carolina Hurricanes have officially tendered an offer sheet to Montreal Canadiens forward Jesperi Kotkaniemi, a reported one-year deal worth $6.1 million: 

This marks only the 6th time that a player has signed said offer sheet; the most recent example is when the Habs tried to poach Canes star Sebastian Aho in 2019. 

Oh, and the Hurricanes included this little gem, which just so happens to be Aho's sweater number:

Montreal will have one week to match the offer, which would put them approximately $2 million over their LTIR exception space. Should the Habs decide not to match, they'll receive a 1st and 3rd round pick as compensation.
