This could be absolutely terrible for the Montreal Canadiens.

On Monday morning Canadiens goaltender Carey Price was spotted leaving practice early after he suffered an apparent injury to his right hand. We don't have the full details at this time but Canadiens insider Renaud Lavoie of TVA Sports is reporting that Price took a shot off his right hand during practice, with Lavoie specifically mentioning Price's fingers as the point of impact.

It is unclear at this time how exactly the puck struck Price's hand, which could have helped us shed some light on the potential severity of the incident.

What we do know at this time is that Price left the practice early and that he did so without completing his usual round of stretches, and you have to wonder what that could mean for later this evening. The Canadiens are set to face off against the Edmonton Oilers at 7 pm EST, but with Price hurting his hand and leaving the morning skate well ahead of schedule, it could very well be that he will not be available this evening.

Update: Good news Habs fans, Lavoie now reports that Price will be ready to go this evening in spite of the incident with his hand during today's practice.
