The Boston Bruins selected Fabian Lysell with the 21st overall selection in this year's NHL Draft, and rather than continuing to play with Luleå HF in the Swedish Hockey League, he'll be taking the next step in his career in North America.

He's officially been sent to the WHL's Vancouver Giants by the Bruins; meanwhile, third round pick Brett Harrison has been sent to the OHL’s Oshawa Generals.

For head coach Bruce Cassidy, Lysell will benefit from more playing time and developing his game in the North American style of play.

“We want him to go and excel offensively and get used to the North American style of game,” said Cassidy. “Particularly for him [it will be] attacking and building his offensive game. Systems will change no matter where you play, so for him it’s about getting comfortable playing in traffic…which he seems to be. That’s the positive."
