This is not a record you want to be known for, especially this season.

Bruins put up awful statistic and frustration is growing in dressing room!

Every team in the National Hockey League, expect the Dallas Stars, have kicked off the 2021 season and already the Boston Bruins aren’t putting up awful statistics. Especially one. According to TSN, the Bruins are the only team (aside from Dallas) to not score an even-strength goal so far this season.

It’s bad when the only other team who shares that statistic is the one that has yet to play a game because of a COVID outbreak with 17 players testing positive for the coronavirus. Their first four games were postponed, with the new season opener scheduled for Friday at Nashville, which had its game Tuesday against Carolina postponed.

The Bruins won a game in a shootout, lost one in overtime and were shut out in regulation. And now frustrating is growing in the team’s dressing room.

“Yes, I would say there would be some frustration,” head coach Bruce Cassidy explained. “That’s been a bit of a challenge for our (defensemen) is getting shots through on a consistent basis and being there to get the tips and screens and those kind of ugly goals. That’s the challenge in front of us, and we’ll keep harping on it.”

The Bruins will get a chance to turn that awful stat around on Thursday night when they hope to get back on track against the Philadelphia Flyers in the first contest of a two-game series in Boston.

They better turn things around quickly, especially in this shortened season.
