This was tough to watch for Canada and all of its hockey fans. Spencer Knight made 33 saves for a shutout and Trevor Zegras had a goal and an assist as Team USA defeated Team Canada 2-0 to win the 2021 IIHF World Junior Championship on Tuesday.

After the heartbreaking loss for Canada, the announcement was made that captain Bowen Byram had been named best played of the game for Team Canada.

As his name echoed in the empty arena, Byram broke down in tears, sobbing on his teammate Dylan Couzins who tried comforting him.

Good job, Team Canada and Team USA. All of the players should be proud. We know each time that a club will come out losing in this game and it’s never easy to see.
