The Chicago Blackhawks have been conducting quite a bit of business today and fans across social media are reacting strongly to some of the team's decisions.

First up, the team announced a one year, $997,500 deal for forward Adam Gaudette.

The 24 year old Gaudette scored four points in seven games with the Blackhawks after being acquired from the Vancouver Canucks in April. In total Gaudette had five goals and 11 points in 40 games split between the Blackhawks and Canucks last season. Interestingly enough, he is believed to be "patient zero" of the Canucks' COVID-19 outbreak.

More surprising though is the fact that the Blackhawks decided NOT to qualify or re-sign pending free agent forward Pius Suter. Suter's agent Georges Muller made the announcement himself online, check it out:

The 25 year old Swiss forward put up a pretty impressive 14 goals and 27 points in 55 games with the Blackhawks this past season, but that evidently wasn't enough for GM Stan Bowman to warrant brining him back. Frankly, that's a surprising move.

Additionally, the team has announced that forwards Brandon Hagel and Alex Nylander and defenseman Nikita Zadorov have all been tendered qualifying offers. Suter, Josh Dickinson and David Kampf will all hit the open market as free agents on Wednesday.
