This just in, the Chicago Blackhawks have signed forward Henrik Borgstrom to a two year contract worth $1 million per season.

The 23 year old Finnish forward was acquired by the Blackhawks earlier this season in aa trade with the Florida Panthers and there was some chatter that he may not return to the NHL after his brief stint with the Panthers. But, evidently Blackhawks GM Stan Bowman was able to convince the University of Denver product to give the NHL one more crack.

Borgstrom had an impressive season in Finland in 2020-21, putting up 11 goals and 19 points in 30 games with the top division HIFK Helsinki. He has just 58 NHL games to his credit (all with the Panthers), scoring nine goals and 19 points. He also put up an outstanding 45 goals and 95 points in 77 games across two seasons with the University of Denver of the NCAA from 2016 - 2018.
