Earlier today NHL commissioner Gary Bettman met with the media to discuss some issues and concerns with the upcoming 2021 season when questions arose regarding jersey advertisements. With ads on helmets for the 2021 season a lot of fans and analysts are predicting ads on jerseys, socks, pants, etc. in 2022 and beyond. Not so though says Bettman.

Check it out:

"The jury is still out on jersey signage. And if we are going to do that, that was something that was important enough that I didn't want to do it under these circumstances. Nobody should jump to any conclusions, in terms of what's next."

Hmmm... honestly I don't know what to think. I mean... what else is Bettman going to say, "Yep, we're putting a giant McDonald's 'M' on every jersey?" Of course he's going to play coy about things. Frankly though, if there aren't ads on the jerseys in 2022 I predict that we'll definitely see them within the next 10 years.
