Bellemare has his dreams crushed on live television

There's nothing quite like playing hockey in The Great Outdoors. Feeling the wind in your face, feeling your blades dig into a natural sheet of ice... to me, it can't be beat.

But not everyone grows up playing hockey outdoors. Hockey players in much of the United States, Europe and even in parts of Canada can go through the entire hockey season without seeing so much as a puddle of ice outdoors. Frankly, it's a damn shame. Every hockey player should get the opportunity to play some pond hockey at least once in their life. Especially if you're an NHLer like Colorado Avalanche forward Pierre-Edouard Bellemare.

The Avs forward was downright giddy when talking about his team's upcoming outdoor game against the Vegas Golden Knights at Lake Tahoe. There was just one problem: Bellemare was under the impression that they were going to play on the actual lake. Nope. It'll be a rink constructed on land next to the lake.

The disappointment exuding from Bellemare when teammate Andre Burakovsky corrected him was palpable.

Check it out:

Oh man... his dreams crushed on live television! You have to feel for the guy. I mean... sure he's a multi-millionaire NHLer, but at least I've played some outdoor shinny! Winning!
