Alright I think we can now safely confirm that this is no accident, but instead a masterfully orchestrated gimmick on the part of Hockey Night in Canada (HNIC) star Kevin Bieksa.

One week ago today I covered a story regarding a rather unusual photo that had been spotted by eagle eyed hockey fans, a picture that was located on the mantle or shelf behind the aforementioned Bieksa during that week's broadcast of HNIC. That pictured turned out to be a photo of long time Vancouver Canucks and Anaheim Ducks teammate Ryan Kesler, one in which Kesler was featured entirely nude in an ESPN "Body" issue. At the time I speculated that Bieksa had either been trolling Kesler, or was perhaps the victim of a prank himself, but I think we can now safely say that Bieksa was the mastermind behind the photo.

This week Bieksa was back on the HNIC broadcast and once again sharp eyed hockey fans were quick to spot a new photo behind the former National Hockey League defenseman. This time it was a shot of former NHLer Vernon Fiddler, but this was not just any normal picture of Fiddler. Here's a close up:

Now you might be asking yourself, why is Vernon Fiddler making such a pretty face? Well long time hockey fans will remember that this harkens back to a rather hilarious incident between the Vancouver Canucks and the Dallas Stars, one in which Vernon Fiddler was doing his best impression of.... you guessed it, Kevin Bieksa.

This may seem like a relatively minor thing to modern hockey fans, but at the time I can assure that both Bieksa and Fiddler got plenty of ribbing following the incident. What really made the whole thing so special however was the reaction of Vancouver Canucks head coach Alain Vigneault at the time. It would be an understatement to describe Vigneault's reaction as uncontrollable laughter, and it becomes even more hilarious when you realize that Vigneault was laughing at Bieksa, his own player.

The head coach was laughing so hard that he repeatedly tried to calm himself by rubbing his program against his nose, but ended up simply hiding his face behind that program in a failed attempt to conceal the fact that he was laughing at his own guy.

Thankfully, the whole thing is still on video.
