Another coach bows out of season following vaccine mandate
Colorado Avalanche

Former NHL defenseman turned coach Brett Clark has announced that he will not participate in the upcoming season due to the NHL's vaccine mandate. Clark was hired to serve as an assistant coach on the Colorado Avalanche's AHL affiliate Colorado Eagles, but has declined the position. To take his space the team has effectively called up ECHL head coach Tim Branham.

Check it out:

Clark himself made a personal statement through the Avs' social media account:

“Under the new league protocols, I am not permitted to fulfill my duties on the Eagles coaching staff at this time.  I appreciate the opportunity and look forward to resuming my coaching career at some point soon.”

Some people may be thumbing their noses at Clark or throwing out nasty insults, but I'm not going to pile on a guy when he's down. Yes, this was his decision to make and I'm sure it was a grueling one. While most people won't agree with his decision, he has the right to have his own thoughts and concerns and he's making the decision that's best for him. Live and let live, I say.
