Robin Lehner is a game-time decision for tonight’s game as the Vegas Golden face the San Jose Sharks. The goalie revealed that he suffered a concussion earlier this season and caused him to miss an extended period of time as the team placed him on injured reserve. He hasn’t played since Feb. 7.

Lehner felt he had to reveal that he had sustained a concussion because of the stigma of mental illness. He believes fans and pundits were quick to assume his absence was linked to his mental health. He thinks he should get the benefit of the doubt because he’s been so honest about it.

Lehner practiced with the Silver Knights on a conditioning loan to the American Hockey League club last week.

In five appearances, Lehner is 3-1-1 with a 2.96 goals-against average and an .890 save percentage.

Let’s hope he shakes up this feeling and focuses on hockey. Too bad to see however that some folks won’t mind their own business when it comes to players’ personal lives.
