It just seems like forward Alex Galchenyuk’s career in the National Hockey League isn’t progressing. On Tuesday, it was reported that the veteran forward, who’s playing for his fifth team in the past three years, has landed on the fifth line of the Ottawa Senators ahead of the season opener.

According to TSN, he was on the fifth line of the Senators’ lineup, also made up of Colin White and Michael Haley. The first four left wingers of the group led by D.J. Smith during the session were Brady Tkachuk, Tim Stuetzle, Nick Paul and Cedric Paquette.

This means Galchenyuk could land in the reserve squad at the very start of the season. Ottawa will host the Toronto Maple Leafs on Friday and Saturday to kick off their calendar.

After he was traded from the Montreal Canadiens to the Arizona Coyotes back in June 2018, Galchenyuk wore the Pittsburgh Penguins and Minnesota Wild uniforms before signing a contract as free agent with the Sens on October 28. In the last season, he scored 24 points, including eight goals, in 59 games.

It’s been a tough go for the forward, and it may just get even harder…
