If you got up to grab a snack or make a pit-stop at home while waiting for the start of overtime between the Columbus Blue Jackets and Tampa Bay Lightning and missed the subsequent game-winning goal, we won't blame you.

Ten seconds is all it took for the Lightning (32-14-2) to deposit the game-winning goal in the extra session at Amalie Arena and extend the winless streak of the Blue Jackets to nine games (0-8-1).

With the win, the Lightning are now within a point of their in-state rival Florida Panthers for the second overall place in the NHL's Central Division; the Carolina Hurricanes remain in first place.

Brayden Point, who would finish with three assists, found defenseman Victor Hedman sneaking in from inside the blue line. The Swedish defenseman then ripped a shot from the top of the slot past goaltender Elvis Merzļikins for his second overtime goal in less than a span of seven days. He also made some NHL history in doing so. His tally is now tied for the 2nd fastest overtime goal by an NHL defenseman in history along with Blue Jackets defenseman Seth Jones, both of whom have now scored at 10 seconds of overtime. The record is nine seconds set by Kyle Cumiskey in 2010.

Forward Ondrej Palat would open the scoring for the Lightning in the first period, only to see Columbus storm back with two quick goals to wrestle the lead right back courtesy of Eric Robinson and Mikhail Grigorenko. The game would eventually be tied thanks to Tampa's Mathieu Joseph, though Robinson would score his second of the game just 55 seconds into the 3rd period.

It wasn't long before 2019 American Hockey League rookie of the year Alex Barre-Boulet made his presence felt. He sniped home his first NHL goal from the left face-off circle after taking a feed from Palat to knot the score at 3-3.

Blue Jackets starting goaltender Joonas Korpisalo departed from the game with a lower-body injury after having stopped 23 of 26 Lightning shots and was replaced by Merzļikins

The Lightning will now travel to the Windy City for a Tuesday night matchup against their 2015 Stanley Cup Finals opponent, the Chicago Blackhawks. Meanwhile, the Blue Jackets return home to host the Detroit Red Wings.
